"I'll have the sautéed worms with a side salad, please."

For those that suffer from forms of inflammatory bowel disease, eating worms may hold promise for a better future. Apparently, because we live in a society that is increasingly hygienic, our immune systems have "become lazy" and no longer have to fight off the infections and parasites we once battled. Introduction of the whipworm may stimulate the immune system that is faulty in those with inflammatory bowel disease. Mmmmm... tasty.

I'll have the side salad, and some mouthwash, and a mint, and a whiskey, and a big big glass of water.

I don't know what it is about using small wriggling creatures in medicine. The thought of worms in my gut, maggots eating dead tissue in my leg, or leeches sucking excess blood from a surgery site, well... simply put, creeps me out. Yick.
